Jupiter (Sol V) by Jett-Hill-Artist Jupiter (Sol V) by Jett-Hill-Artist
Jupiter is the largest and most massive planet in the Solar System. It would take 11 Earths (on average) to stretch across it, and 318 Earths to have as much matter within it.

It has 67 moons and a monolith in orbit around it, five of which (from left to right), Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, and Amalthea, are shown. It has a very faint ring system, which was first discovered in 1979.

It takes about 10 hours to rotate along its axis. Its axis is tilted about 3 degrees relative to its orbit. Its orbit is tilted about 6 degrees relative to the equator of the Sun.

Nice concept :) I like the atmospheric effects, although they are exagerated

Cool. I made it all in Blender Render; no Cycles.
I also forgot to credit you for the Jupiter Texture, as well as John Van Vilet for the Moon Textures.

Oh that's mine? Cool :) it was hard to tell because the original texture would just be a little more streched out vertically.

Well, I kind of made the sphere oblate, like the real Jupiter is. X=11.209, Y=11.209, Z=10.517.

Oh right, but I really meant the texture - the one NASA posted didn't include all latitudes, some areas around the poles were missing. I've seen NASA renderings of an oblate Jupiter with this texture streched from pole to pole, which made the features streched out vertically, which just looked wrong.

Huh. I'll be honest, if I wanted to make it any more realistic (or stylized) I would have used a normal map.
